This bluebird bowl was painted especially for Empty Bowls McKinney. It may be as close as I get to having bluebirds--my bluebird house stands empty in our yard in spite of my best efforts! The bowl will be available for purchase at this year's Empty Bowls event on May 12th in Historic Downtown McKinney.
The bowl was thrown by potter Tim Bednar, and the reference photo I used was by talented photographer Mike Brown. The bowl was fired (four times!) by Alex and Minda Macias. Quite a group effort!
The proceeds from Empty Bowls will benefit McKinney's Community Garden Kitchen and Community Lifeline Center. I'm happy to be part of this event again this year!
